Aqua-Notes Swimming Teacher Training Programme
An Accredited Training Centre for the delivery
of ASA/UKCC Teacher Training courses for Teaching Swimming.
The ASA are the governing body for the sport
of Swimming, Diving, Water Polo,
Synchronised Swimming, Open Water & Disability Swimming.
We provide ASA/UKCC Swimming Teacher courses as an accredited ASA training centre. The structure and syllabus of courses changed in January 2011 and all courses are now part of the Qualification Credits Framework (QCF).
As a result of the changes, candidates no longer need to sit exams at the end of the course. They will however, undertake numerous asssessment tasks throughout the course and they are expected to pass all assessment tasks in order to achieve the qualification.
Courses are run at Chapeltown Community Swimming Pool in Sheffield. The pool is approx. 6 miles from Sheffield City Centre, just off junction 35 of the M1 motorway with good bus & train links. The pool is a conventional style 25 x 12 yards and we have a classroom on site. We run intense courses usually undertaken over 1 - 2 weeks or we also run the same courses over a longer period of 1 - 2 days per week for 5 to 8 weeks. All courses are a combination of practical and theory work. We recognise that canditates may not have been in a classroom environment for sometime so, all timetables allow plenty of time for candidates to have tutor assistance with their planning and paperwork. Swimming should be FUN. Children learn through play and repetition. All our courses operate with this in mind and we try our best to make teaching and learning an enjoyable experience. Chapeltown Pool also operate RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Courses, First Aid Courses, various other Health & Safety related courses. For further details of NPLQ or First Aid courses, please call the Pool direct and ask for Greta Sproson - 0114 2570354
